Also had the EPB brake shoes constantly binding. Giving a constant metal on metal scraping noise.

If the D3 was reversed or reversed while EPB activated, would alleviate for a few hundred yards before coming back again.

Laughing I was going to do it, but I took the kids to school..... Nicely phrased Thumbs Up

Well, I've had a screamer twice, once following an off-roading session, and once after a 6 weeks of pure road use. Also had the brake bind on once.

What would be good here would be any dealers - either active ones like Yeovil, Lakeland etc, or silent lurkers - to tell us what percentage of their service bookings are for the EPB and what percentage of EPB's have required more than the normal regular adjustment during scheduled services.

Have any of them expressed concern to their LR rep over the EPB and the amount of servicing it needs.

Long shot I know as they may not wish to get on the wrong side of LR... but then, being on the right side of the customer is a good thing Thumbs Up and in my mind far more important.

Westover Christchurch have previously raised this on the dealer service forum with LR but are going to make a more concerted effort to pursue this as they estimate as many as 10% of EPB equipped cars they see require remedial attention (strip, clean and adjust) at or between services when the EPB isn't even mentioned on the service schedule. Many customers with autos simply put the car in Park rather than use the EPB and may only find they have a problem at the first MOT or when a dealer identifies it at a service. Certainly my neighbour has never once used the EPB in 18000 miles on his 06 SE.

LR appear to believe the design is acceptable for the sort of use they think the car might normally have, but the high level of problems with "tarmac-only" cars suggests otherwise.

In essence LR are admitting that their award-winning 4x4 is nothing more than a glorified people carrier with an over-engineered drivetrain and not an offroad vehicle at all. Drives a coach and horses through their pro 4x4 stance doesn't it.
You cannot begin to comprehend the immensity of the Censored I do not give.
