Broke down again yesterday. Had an important appointment and had to wait in -7 temperatures for a recovery truck. Car won't start at all now Turns over, but won't start. I just want this nightmare to end. Going to try and get a refund from the dealer.

I'd definitely recommend getting someone experienced to look at it and do some diagnostics & investigations - I know from my own bitter experience it can take literally months of your own time and effort to track down problems that an experienced mechanic/auto-electrician will get to the bottom of in much less time.
It's no disrespect to your abilities as mechanic - plus the people on this forum are brilliant at helping and they know a LOT about these vehicles - it's just sometimes you have to make the call to get outside assistance (it's a trade-off - some money in exchange for months of your time plus all the time you could have been spending doing something else!).
(I know some mechanics/garages are rubbish too but find a good one on recommendation and you'll be happy).
I'd definitely start by taking it back to the original dealer but don't get bogged down in arguing the toss over the warranty - you need your motor fixed & reliable.
These things were only built by mere human beings so they can be put back together again - honestly!

Thanks. I'm certainly no mechanic and will only look to change simple straight swap parts, like batteries if I believe them to be at fault.
The dealers mechanic friends haven't been up to scratch so far, failed to even connect to the diagnostics. The warranty appears next to worthless.
I've asked the dealer to come and collect it. It's been a catalog of breakdowns and I've not even had the car in my possession for more than 3 weeks. I need the car to at least be reliable enough for SWMBO to drive and that is looking like it will never happen. We live in the sticks, I can't trust it to be safe enough for her and it's caused us both far too much stress (not to mention money) as it is.
