| Heated Seats -Lights On, but no warm bottom!?!? |
|
Anyone help - had some battery and alternator problems a few weeks ago which have now been resolved (new batt & recon altern), but both heated seats have not worked since. The lights on the consul/dials are lighting up but no heat? I've not checked the fuses yet, but didn't think the lights would work if the fuses had blown.
Thoughts welcome.

Could be the relay bud check the relays in the panel next to the battery can't remember if its in there or behind the glove box, but there is a diagram on the lid of the fuse box that will tell what relay is at what position.

From the manual:
Quote:Seat does not get warm:
Switch fault
Fuses
Circuit fault
Temperature sensor
Battery voltage is greater than 16.5 volts
Check the LEDs at the switches as a quick check of the switch function. If the LEDs illuminate when the switches are operated, there is power to the switches and the switches are operating at least one level. Check the seat heater circuits, refer to the electrical guides. Check the temperature sensor function. If the battery voltage is higher than 16.5 volts for more than 5 seconds, seat heating is suspended. Refer to the relevant section of the workshop manual. For you guys with no heat there is another fuse in Central Junction Box (P101) F28p which powers the Relay,
BrianT
Edit:just looking at the Diagram and it looks like the switches are powered from the Automatic Temperature Control Module (D243),Could be wrong though. MY 05 SE Adriatic Blue

Thats what i was thinking as it is marked as "Read Manual" icon on the lid, fuse 28p also has the same icon.
I am busy at the moment but will give it a try and let you know if you have not already done so.

Thanks everyone for your help on this, but the seats are still not working. I checked the radio at idle and it does display LOW POWER if i try and turn it over 20. How can this be when I have just had a brandf new LR battery and recon alternator fitted?

Do you have access to a multimeter as we could talk you through some tests?

Apologies for the poor photo but about 60 seconds after starting as shown on a cheap 12v cigar socket voltmeter rather than a Fluke:
The above are pretty typical for a D3 with a good battery and good alternator. Car had not been driven for a day and temp is about 9 deg C, although it was a little colder overnight. The voltage is regulated by the cars engine management system according to load, charging rate and temperature.
